Fast & Furious X: Vin Diesel would blame Jason Momoa for the film’s poor reviews

Jason Momoa’s performance in the tenth installment of “Fast & Furious” would apparently not have been unanimous: in any case, it seems that this is the case for Vin Diesel…

In Fast & Furious X, Jason Momoa plays Dante Reyes, an eccentric villain bent on taking on Dom’s family. And speaking of Dom, it seems that his interpreter has a rather hard opinion on why the reviews for the film are not good. According to RadarOnline (via ComingSoon), Vin Diesel would not be satisfied with the performance of Jason Momoa in the feature film which would, according to him, be the cause of these bad reviews!

Indeed, although the film was a phenomenal success at the box office, the critics did not quite follow and were mainly negative, speaking of an overly extravagant plot and action scenes. And while Jason Momoa has mostly been praised for his portrayal of Dante, RadarOnline reports that Vin Diesel wouldn’t be thrilled if his colleague was considered one of the film’s only bright spots. A source reportedly told the site: “Vin is embarrassed that Jason is seen as the film’s only bright spot and steals the show in the franchise he built himself.

According to other sources, Vin Diesel also spoke of “overplay” on Jason Momoa’s part, stating that the actor’s “over the top” and “scene-stealing” nature contributed to poor reviews and tarnished the film. RadarOnline also mentions that the hero of Aquaman would be aware of the strong opinions of his co-star.

Note that, if this turns out to be true, it would not be the first time that Vin Diesel has had a problem with one of the actors of the Fast & Furious franchise. Indeed, his old problems with Dwayne Johnson, of public notoriety, had led the latter to leave the franchise. While those have since been resolved, with Dwayne Johnson set to return in the 11th installment as well as his own spin-off solo film, it would appear that Vin Diesel is still very sensitive when it comes to the saga he holds dear.
