A fatal traffic accident occurred in Saaz near Paldau (Southeast Styria district) on Thursday evening. A 62-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
A 58-year-old truck driver drove from Saaz towards Gniebing after a rest. As the southeast Styrian drove from a parking lot along an access road towards the L201, the man noticed resistance in a slight right-hand bend. The truck driver stopped immediately and saw a person in the rear view mirror in the area of the rear axles of the vehicle. The woman was probably hit by the truck and rolled over. Despite first aid measures being taken immediately and the emergency services notified, the woman from Southeast Styria could no longer be helped. The woman died at the scene of the accident. The cause of the accident is unclear. The Feldbach police station is now investigating the cause of the accident. This also includes evaluating the truck driver’s driver card.
