Father as a witness – young ski tourer fell a hundred meters

On Tuesday, a 19-year-old was on a ski tour with her father in the Tyrolean town of Ausserfern. The duo wanted to climb the Vulture Heads near Reutte. The young woman had a serious mishap. This ended with her being seriously injured in the hospital.

At around 10.30 a.m. father and daughter were on the way to Geierköpfe in the Ammerwaldalpe area. The two Germans climbed in a zigzag course. Then it happened in a hairpin bend. The 19-year-old fell and was no longer able to hold on in the steep terrain. The young woman fell a hundred meters down a steep slope and ended up lying on a ledge. The tourer suffered serious head injuries in the fall. The shocked father made the emergency call and waited next to his daughter for the rescuers. They came with the emergency helicopter and rescued the seriously injured person. She was flown to hospital in Murnau, Germany.
