fun, news, tips … what else?

For the end of the year celebrations, a father wanted to please his 6-year-old daughter by building from scratch a huge castle inspired by the famous Disney theme park.

The Marques family garden does not go unnoticed in the small town of Oinville-sous-Auneau in Eure-et-Loir. A few months ago, in August, Elvis Marques, the father of the family, started a crazy project: to build a majestic disney princess castle for her six-year-old daughter, Maylie. He saw things in a big way, in a very big way, report West France. After weeks and weeks of work, “more than 750 hours of work”, and the help of his relatives, the thirty-something father finished his creation in early December.

Illuminated in all colors, “the structure is ten meters high, eight meters wide and weighs five tons” and rests on a solid metal scaffolding and wooden planks in the middle of his garden, he confides to our colleagues. More than 20,000 LED lamps have been installed to create a magical atmosphere. And that’s not all. To be as faithful as possible to the entire Disney universe, Elvis has also decorated the exterior of his house with other elements. “There is a small wooden house with Mickey Mouse figures and a driveway dedicated to Frozen…”. A space is also dedicated to the Snow Queen and Santa Claus, reports the media News Chartres.

“Last year, my daughter wanted to go to Disneyland Paris but the park was closed because of the Covid-19. So I reproduced the facade of the castle in our garden and she was very happy”, he tells Ouest France to explain his project.

A magical world open to all

Many curious people flock in front of the Maison des Marques to discover the decorations. And seeing this magical and grandiose setting, visitors and passers-by are won over and amazed. “People come from everywhere, this weekend, some have traveled more than 100 kilometers to come”, declared the father of the family to Actu Chartres. Santa Claus is also there, every Saturday evening, in a small chalet also built for the occasion.

Faced with this success, Elvis Marques does not rule out the idea of coming back next year, with an even bigger project.

“I admit it’s a lot of work each time. But since I always want to put glitter in my daughter’s eyes, maybe I’ll give it another try.”, he admits.
