She evokes for Louise Aubery her childhood, during which she was very self-conscious, and her fear of death: “I was a teenager, a young woman who was very uncomfortable in her skin and who had been confronted with death very, very early in her life. I’m always a little nervous when I bring up the subject…”. However, the wife of the writer Maxime Chattam continues: “I had terrible anxiety about abandonment. We don’t say the word ‘death’. We say: ‘The person is gone’“.
And these anxieties do not come from nothing since she faces terrible losses very young: “I had a succession of bereavements, including very close people. I had a close brush with death. Death really accompanied me”. The host even gives chilling details: “I have people who died in my arms! When I tell you that death accompanied me, it is because I was confronted with the death of my best friend when I was ten, of my first love, of my grandparents… (. ..) On my father’s side, people died in plane crashes. I was rocked, a lot, by death“.

During her studies, she had to work for two weeks in a morgue and remembers putting makeup on corpses and then discovering herself fascinated by the funeral environment: “I realized that it could go very quickly. In the morning there is, in the afternoon there is no more, that everything can change in a minute… It’s something very anxiety-provoking, very violent. So I was very traumatized”. She keeps one “urgency to live“.
