The 2022 season is being prepared in Valorant and the various structures are still adjusting their workforce. On the side of North America, FaZe hopes to achieve a better season than last year, where after a good performance at the first Master of the year, it had gradually disappeared from the radar. In North America, we talked a lot about Sentinels, Cloud9 or Envy. FaZe served at best as a foil and at worst as a doormat to these teams… And we can imagine that the leaders aspire to change things. FaZe Clan is a structure that weighs and playing supporting roles does not match its brand image.
To raise the head, the team made many changes and no less than 4 new recruits arrived. Only Andrej”babybay“Francisty, the undisputed star of the team, has been retained.
4 recruits and ambitions
The 4 recruits in question are dicey, ShoT_UP, flyuh and the Canadian LarryBanks. If the last two are not particularly well known on the scene, the first two already enjoy a certain notoriety. dicey stood out at 100 Thieves in the past where he notably won a First Strike tournament. Pushed to the bench and inactive for a few months, he will try to revive with FaZe. Regarding ShoT_UP, he wore the colors of Immortals Last year. The success was frankly not there, but he showed good things intermittently and we know that on a good day, he is capable of great things.
On paper, we don’t know exactly what this roster is capable of. But after a disappointing 2021, new blood was needed to restart the machine. At least let the the benefit of the doubt to the new version of the team before judging.
