The future of "Fear the Walking Dead" is secured by another season: AMC is planning a seventh round of "The Walking Dead" offshoot.

"Fear the Walking Dead" gets a new addition: The "The Walking Dead" spin-off is being expanded by a seventh season. That was the home channel of the AMC series known via Twitter. The station is currently broadcasting the sixth season, which started in October and is approaching its half-time finals.

"Fear the Walking Dead" premiered in 2015. The plot of the series begins a few weeks before the mother series, when civilization is still intact and there are only occasional biter attacks in the zombie apocalypse. The main characters in the series include Lennie James (55), Alycia Debnam-Carey (27), Colman Domingo (51), Danay Garcia (36) and Garret Dillahunt (56).

The "The Walking Dead" universe is expanding

The original "The Walking Dead" will end with the upcoming eleventh season. AMC announced this in September of this year. However, there is a small add-on for fans: The season should include 24 episodes that are to be broadcast over a period of two years. The "World Beyond" offshoot about the first generation after the zombie apocalypse will end after two seasons as planned.

However, as AMC announced, another spin-off is planned that will flicker across TV screens in 2023, focusing on the story of popular characters Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus, 51) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride, 55) should. There is also a series called "Tales of the Walking Dead", which is supposed to be an "episodic anthology" that illuminates the background story of existing or new characters. AMC is also working on other projects, all of which are located in the "Walking Dead" universe.
