After a two-year Corona break, the economy in Salzburg recovered in 2022: because tourism started up again, economic output in the state also increased the most in an Austrian comparison.
Inflation and the energy crisis slowed down the economy, which was recovering from the effects of the corona restrictions. Nevertheless, Salzburg was able to record an increase of 7.4 percent and is therefore the front runner. As a result, there were also more employees. In addition to tourism, the production and sale of drinks also contributed to the good economic performance in the state. The construction industry in particular groaned under the rise in prices. As a result, fewer orders were processed. The high price increases slowed down the domestic industry.
