In Germany, petrol-electric hybrid vehicles received a significant boost with an increase of almost 70 percent to 43,051 new registrations. This corresponds to a share of 18 percent, after 10.2 percent in the previous year. The number of electric vehicles registered on the roads has doubled from 15,072 to 33,366 vehicles, increasing the proportion from 6.4 to 13.9 percent. The registration figures for newly sold diesel-electric hybrid vehicles also showed a significant increase of 63.4 percent to 13,545 vehicles, their share thus increasing from 3.3 to 5.6 percent.
