Investing.com – FIFA has announced the launch of NFT ahead of this year’s World Cup. The “FIFA+ Collect” NFT will be based on the Algorand blockchain and will take the greatest gaming moments to the competition’s most iconic artwork and images.
“The fandom is evolving and football fans around the world are engaging with the game in new and exciting ways,” said Romy Gai, Chief Commercial Officer of FIFA.
“From launch, FIFA+ Collect will be available on all web and mobile devices and in three language editions (English, French and Spanish), with several additional languages to follow.”
“The FIFA platform – via a truly decentralized and scalable public blockchain – is the first tangible representation of the recently announced technical partnership between FIFA and Algorand,” said Sean Ford (NYSE:), Algorand’s interim chief executive.
Ford added: “FIFA’s commitment to bridging Web3 through Algorand is a testament to its spirit of innovation and desire to engage directly and seamlessly with football fans around the world. .”
