Square-Enix still has great projects around Final Fantasy VIIespecially with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion (available for pre-order from €59.99 at Amazon.co.uk). It also plans on mobiles an adventure compiling all the history of the base game and its spin-offs, Final Fantasy: Ever Crisisand last year launched a Battle Royale on iOS and Android that he wanted to make last, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier.
The publisher had regularly offered additional content for the latter, in particular up to a Season 4 which began on August 31. Unfortunately, it should be the last: the public was obviously not there for The First Soldierthen Square-Enix has decided to shut down its servers on January 11, 2023. Sales of Shinra Credits is suspended as of now and, although technical updates will continue to arrive between now and the end, we should not expect much anymore.
After nearly a year of riding chocobos, charging into melee, and shooting from rooftops in the underground areas of Midgar, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the end of service for Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier.
The service will end on January 11, 2023 at 7:00 UTC.
Despite our best efforts to create regular updates with original and interesting content, we have not been able to provide you with the experience that we hoped for and that you deserved. We then made the extremely difficult decision to terminate the service of Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier.
