Final Fantasy XVI: Naoki Yoshida says the game is in “the final stages of development”

If there is indeed a game of Square-Enix which fans are eagerly awaiting news of, is Final Fantasy XVI. Following its announcement in September 2020, we were only treated to a few details via its official website the following month, and nothing since then except statements from Naoki Yoshida. The next reveal was expected for this spring 2022, but we are still waiting. However, this sixteenth main episode has shown itself around the corner of the collection Uniqlo for the 35th anniversary of the license Final Fantasy with an unpublished illustration on one of his t-shirts. This is what is worth to us intervention by the producer within the UT-magazine of the brand.

The Internet user @aitaikimochi has therefore translated this new statement by Naoki Yoshida, which is quite reassuring, judge for yourself:

We are in the final stages of development for the new numbered game in the series, Final Fantasy XVI. We aim to deliver a complete game rich in history and gameplay. Unlike an online game that involves many players at the same time, FFXVI offers a different experience focusing personally on the player and immersing you in the story. I think it’s a really well fleshed out story. For those who have grown up and realized that reality does not spare you and have moved away from Final Fantasy, we hope that FFXVI will be a game that will once again restore the passion you once had with the series.

So development seems to be moving forward, and the final product should delight long-time fans. We only ask to see.

To wait, the most recent game of the license, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is sold from €52.61 on Amazon.
