Square-Enix unfortunately had nothing to tell us about Final Fantasy XVI during the Tokyo Game Show. This was to be expected, given that Naoki Yoshida had given us an appointment for this fall, but we were at least able to discover an original artwork of the game, which is always taken. Yoshida was still present on site at the Japanese show, in particular to receive prizes, and he took the opportunity to specify a little more the period during which the next trailer of the game would be broadcast.
See you at a PlayStation Showcase?
While on stage, Yoshida answered a question about when the next trailer will be. So he replied:
” I haven’t had a chance to talk to the marketing or PR teams at all, so I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say, but I think we can probably release the next trailer next month… And after that, I hope to be able to give a rough idea of the release date. »
We must therefore expect a next trailer of Final Fantasy XVI in October, if all goes well. A priori, the release date would not be immediately sharedbut we will already be very happy to see the game again.
It remains to be seen on what occasion. All signs point to a somewhat larger PlayStation Showcase or State of Play, given that PlayStation’s last show was quite short. We will know very soon.
Final Fantasy XVI will arrive on PlayStation 5 sometime in summer 2023.
