Final Fantasy XVI would be exclusive to the PS5 for only 6 months

Things are finally starting to move on the side of Final Fantasy XVI, whose development is 95% complete according to its producer Naoki Yoshida. A priori, the final release date (at least we hope) should be revealed by the end of the year, probably during the Game Awards which will take place next month. This date should therefore only concern the release of the PS5 version of the game, although we know that this episode is a temporary exclusive. But for how long?

The game available on PC from the end of 2023?

One could think that the title would have a temporary exclusivity of at least one year, like Final Fantasy VII Remakebut a new advertisement for the DualSense comes to prove us the opposite. When Final Fantasy XVI passes on the screen, we notice in the small lines that the game should be a PS5 exclusive for at least 6 months.

This means that theoretically, 6 months after its release, the title could arrive on other platforms. We say well theoretically, because it does not always work like a Swiss cuckoo clock. It is easy to imagine that this episode will arrive first on PC, like the remake of the seventh opus, then later on other machines.

A release on Xbox consoles is therefore still far from being confirmed, even if the whole community is keeping its fingers crossed. We will probably know a little more once the PS5 release date is known.

Final Fantasy XVI will arrive on PlayStation 5 sometime in the summer of 2023, and for the rest, the future will tell.
