According to a series of studies, including one from the WTW firm and another from Alixio, salaries in France should experience a notable increase, estimated between 3.6% and 4%. This a priori positive trend is a continuation of the previous year, while clearly standing out from the small increases observed in 2020 and 2021, according to the Directorate for the Animation of Research, Studies and Statistics ( Dares).
At the same time, this salary growth is accompanied by a slowdown in inflation, good news for purchasing power. Bruno Ducoudr of the Banque de France, cited by Le Figaro, suggests harmonized inflation reduced to 2.5% in 2024, compared to 5.7% the previous year. The French Observatory of Economic Conditions (OFCE) confirms this positive outlook, indicating that the standard of living of the French has improved by 2.5% compared to 2019.

The WTW firm reports that 62% of companies have reviewed their salary strategy to attract and retain this talent. Audrey Louail, president of the Croissance Plus network of entrepreneurs, underlines the importance of this dynamic for companies, despite a cautious approach to business management in 2024. She affirms at Figaro the commitment of companies to support their employees in the face of inflation, making salary increases a priority for the year.
