The next step for the 44-year-old was to go to the police and file a report. There is no doubt about the man’s version: “There would be no reason to invent such a loss. It is not covered by any insurance.” Scammers raise a “counterfeit money alarm.” Meanwhile, scammers are targeting their victims’ money with a scam that is currently being frequently reported in the Bruck an der Leitha district. They pretend to be bank employees over the phone and point out that counterfeit money has appeared at the branch.
