Financial police punished – Tyrol and Vorarlberg: 126 reports in ski areas

During a key inspection by the financial police in Tyrolean and Vorarlberg ski areas, there was a flood of reports. A total of 126 administrative notices were issued and around 150,000 fines were imposed.

As the Ministry of Finance announced, numerous violations were punished during the financial police’s focus inspection. A total of 126 advertisements were issued in ski areas in both federal states. In addition, 15 cash register violations were identified. In total, the companies have to pay fines of around 150,000 euros. Juicy additional payments In the current winter season, officials inspected the ski areas. This includes ski instructors and ski schools, restaurants, accommodation companies and cable car employees. Many companies may not have registered their employees properly. A total of 62 reports were filed. The companies have to expect hefty fines. Particularly bold was a case involving a Romanian who offered ski lessons in the Kitzbühel area via social media. The man was not registered under commercial law, social security or tax. There was also no registration with the Tyrolean Ski Instructors Association. Major events were also affected. A further 64 reports were received during controls during sporting events such as the Ski World Cup in Kitzbühel or the Biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen. Eight cash register violations were also identified.
