Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes had remained very discreet since its announcement during the last Nintendo Direct. But with a release slated for June, it’s high time for the musoo to really start communicating.
A good big cast to be expected for this Fire Emblem Warriors?
The first surprise of this new video is that the character with purple hair is not the antagonist as we thought during the announcement but the protagonist of this new Fire Emblem Warriors. Presented as Shez, it will be possible to change his name and even his gender. And the antagonist that marketing is selling us for now is Byleth also known as terrible Ashen Demon.
As a reminder, this beat them all takes place in the world of the game Fire Emblem Three Houses. Here too, it will be necessary to choose between three factions to follow different stories and inevitably, we will find the same camps as in the tactical-RPG but with modified names. We therefore find the Crimson Blaze, the Azure Glimmer and the Golden Furnace. This allows us to confirm in passing that the leaders and their right-hand men will be playable.
We can thus see in action Edelgard, Hubert, Dmitri, Due, Claudius and hilda. The trailer also shows us other known characters without specifying whether we can directly control them, these are Flayn, Lorenz, Mercedes. Monica is also present, as is Holst, Hilda’s older brother.
A very tactical musou?
But this video is also an opportunity to show us how the gameplay has been reworked to stick to Three Houses. So not so much that of the fights at first sight but at least everything that goes around it, even if it means borrowing from other musous. A bit like the last Hyrule Warriorsa map replaces the more classic menus and we will find there in particular the main or additional missions but also resources.
It will be possible to change the equipment of your characters as usual, but also the squads that accompany them. We can give our allies more specific orders than a simple “Go here” since we can, for example, ask them to heal someone else. We also find the system of assistants and duo attacks.
We can improve the understanding of the characters at HQ where we can also walk around freely to take advantage of the various services, such as learning new classes. In short, all this makes you want but it is above all the technique that is scary when you see certain textures and remember the framerate of theAge of Scourge…
