Fire in Eibiswald – outbuildings on fire: ten chickens died

A fire broke out in an outbuilding in Eibiswald (Styria) on Tuesday evening. The wife of the 53-year-old owner raised the alarm. Ten chickens in a pen nearby died.

Around 10 p.m., the West Styrian noticed the fire. She notified her son, who in turn alerted the fire department. The outbuilding used as a workshop, wood store and garage was already fully engulfed in flames when the fire brigade arrived. The flames were prevented from spreading to the nearby residential building. The extinguishing work continued into the morning hours. The cause is unclear. The amount of damage and the cause of the fire are still the subject of ongoing investigations. No one was injured, but according to the police, ten chickens in an adjacent pen died. Seven fire brigades were deployed with 17 vehicles and a total of 97 forces.
