Mozilla firefox benefits from a new update that introduces Firefox View, a multi-device synchronization and tab management function.

Firefox version 106 is now available on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. The update notably brings a new feature, Firefox View, the operation of which we detail in this article.

What is Firefox View?

With Firefox View, the web browser hears ” facilitate the return to previously discovered content “. It takes the form of a pinned tab at the address bar and allows you to find (and open) recently closed tabs on the device currently in use. You no longer need to fetch it from the history or from another less convenient method.

But Firefox View does not stop there, since it is also used to access the tabs of other devices that use the same Firefox account, thanks to the browser’s tab recovery function. If you started reading this article on mobile, you can simply continue it from your computer.

The interface can also be used to change the appearance of the browser.

How to use Firefox View?

Firefox View is available to all users who have Firefox 106 or later installed on their device. There is no configuration per se to perform, but a few operations are necessary to get the full potential of this feature.

You must first create a Firefox account which will be used to synchronize data between your different terminals. To do this, click the Firefox icon on the left side of the toolbar to open the Firefox View panel. In the “Tab recovery” section, you will be able to create your account and connect to it.

You then need to sign in to your Firefox Account on each device where you use the browser. To activate synchronization on a mobile device, go to “Settings”, then to “Synchronize and save your data” on your PC. A QR code then appears. On your smartphone or tablet, also go to the synchronization options and choose “Ready to scan” to scan the QR Code displayed by the computer. Synchronization can then take place.

You will then find that your mobile device’s tabs appear when you click the Firefox View icon on your PC.
