I prioritize data security. Even though certain security and privacy configurations end up hampering the effectiveness of my experience, I will always prioritize security over simplicity, and you should too.
Every day a new hack is waiting for you to look the other way to steal your data. While something as innocuous as a recorded physical address may seem harmless, someone who finds out about this data could use it against you.
When it comes to technology, prevention is better than cure. The good news is that the designers of the Firefox web browser take your privacy seriously. Firefox has a number of options to help make your experience as safe as possible in this crazy world.
One thing users should be aware of is that Firefox will no longer automatically fill in your physical address or credit card information. For me, the increased security and privacy is worth grabbing. Even though Google advertising makes it look like you’re going to miss out on opportunities like concert tickets (because you have to spend more time typing in your information), I’d much rather miss those opportunities than risk my address or my credit card details fall into the wrong hands.
That being said, let’s make your Firefox browser a little safer by deleting certain data such as stored credit cards, as well as disabling autofill.
How to delete saved credit cards and other data
What you will need : The only thing you will need is an active instance of the Firefox web browser. If you haven’t saved any addresses or credit cards, that’s okay because at least you’ll know how to delete them in the future.
1. Open Firefox
If you’re reading this in Firefox, congratulations, you’ve taken care of step one. If not, open Firefox.
2. Open Settings
Click on the button with three horizontal lines located at the top right of the window and click on Settings in the drop-down menu.

3. Navigate to Privacy and Security
In the window that appears, click Privacy and Security in the left sidebar.

4. Localize forms and autofill
Scroll down until you see the section Forms and autofill in the section Privacy and Security.

5. Delete saved addresses
Click on the Saved Addresses area if there are any. In the window that appears, select the address to delete, then click on DELETE.
Continue scrolling through the list until you have deleted all saved addresses.

6. Remove credit cards
Close the saved addresses pop-up and click Registered bank cards. Proceed in the same way to delete all the bank cards you have saved in the browser.
7. Disable Autofill
Once you’ve done that, uncheck the boxes for Address Autofill and Credit Card Autofill. After following these steps, close the tab Settings. Now you’ll have to type a little more when you’re in Firefox, but the inconvenience is well worth the extra privacy and security it brings.
