Fit with your smartphone: These apps make losing weight easier

The pounds should tumble, but it doesn't work by itself. A balanced diet and plenty of exercise are the cornerstones of a healthy life. Everyone knows that. However, this is not always easy to implement. These apps help.

Sport is important …

If you want to do sports, an app can replace your personal trainer, for example. "Sworkit" for iOS and Android should help, among other things, to lose weight and improve endurance. It does not matter whether you are still a beginner or have already had workout experience. With more than 400 exercises, there should be something for everyone. The basic program is free of charge, but after a one-week trial period, a monthly or annual membership fee will be charged.

An alternative to this can be, for example, the free "30 days fitness challenge" app (iOS / Android). The challenge was designed by a fitness coach and is also intended for every fitness level. The intensity of the workout at home is gradually increasing. A fee is also due for the premium version of the app.

The app "Runkeeper" for iOS and Android, which is used by almost 60 million people, according to the makers, is designed purely for running. Among other things, the program logs all running activities and provides statistics. For the full range of functions, however, users have to pay an annual fee after a one-week test phase.

… but also the right nutrition must be

How many calories a day do I eat? Many people cannot answer this question. It is actually very easy to keep an overview – for example with "MyFitnessPal" for iOS and Android. Thanks to the barcode scanner and other functions, it is possible not only to keep an eye on what you eat, but also how healthy you are eating. There is also a premium version available for a fee.

Not every diet or change of diet fits every person. While one person responds well to a paleo diet, another prefers keto, clean eating or a completely different diet. "Lifesum" for iOS and Android helps you find the right diet for yourself – and keep it up thanks to delicious recipes. Again, however, there is a monthly fee.
