There are air alerts in several parts of Ukraine at night, Russian drones are moving towards the south, west and center. In the capital Kiev, the remains of a downed flying object crashed into a residential building.
According to authorities, a high-rise building was hit in a new Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko spoke that night of an impact on the upper floors of the building and of a fire. One injured person was taken to hospital.
According to Kiev’s military administration, debris from a shot down Shahed drone fell into the residential building in the southwest part of the city. The authority also published photos of a destroyed apartment. There are also said to have been impacts from debris from drones shot down in other parts of the city. Nothing was known about the destruction or casualties at night. The thunderous explosion sounds caused by the use of anti-aircraft defense when the drones were shot down could be clearly heard in the city center. There were air alerts in the megacity and other regions of the country; the Ukrainian Air Force warned of several groups of drones that were moving towards the center, south and west of the country.
The head of the presidential administration in Kiev, Andriy Yermak, described Russia as a “terror nation” that fights civilians. He also confirmed the impact in a residential building. Yermak called on people to seek shelter in bunkers. He also warned against filming or photographing the deployment of the air defense force in order not to reveal air defense positions to the Russian enemy.
Russia has repeatedly attacked Ukraine with drone attacks in its war of aggression that has been going on for almost two years. Almost every day, the country’s air defense system, which is reinforced by Western defense systems, reports the shooting down of Russian drones and missiles.
