stern and RTL collect donations for people in the flood areas for “Help Day”.

A week ago, Germany was hit by a storm of the century. Many people died, thousands lost everything. Many families with children are also affected. “RTL – We help children” and the entire RTL Germany media group will not let those affected down. RTL and the star have declared July 21, 2021 a “Help Day” and would like to collect further donations for the people in the flood areas.

Wednesday, July 21, 2021 is the “Help Day” at RTL – the day that gives hope

“The coming Wednesday is all about support for those affected by the storm disaster. On the ‘Help Day’, from ‘Guten Morgen Deutschland’, to all news and news magazines, to ‘RTL Nachtjournal’, the program for fundraising and special programs will be changed and also accompanied by other channels of the Mediengruppe RTL “, so Wolfram Kons, board member of the” Foundation RTL – We help children eV “and general manager RTL Charity. “I talked to a lot of those affected. Every conversation moved me very much. With our marathon of help, we will not let the affected children and their families down in the long term.”

What is the situation like in the disaster areas? What happens to the donations? And what is the best way to help the people affected on site? – All the answers to these and many other questions can be found on “Help Day”, Wednesday, July 21, 2021, from 6 a.m. in the RTL program.

This is how “RTL – We Help Children” helps with the donations: emergency aid and reconstruction

In the area of emergency aid, part of the collected donation was used, among other things, by the DRK for the provision of power generators, building dryers, camp beds and blankets. The power generators in the central logistics center of the DRK in Berlin have already been loaded and sent to the regions affected by the flood and distributed to affected families. Further material is available for retrieval for the DRK regional associations concerned.

In addition to the emergency aid that has already started, the donations collected are intended to finance the sustainable reconstruction of destroyed facilities for children, including the “Quellenstrasse” kindergarten in Swisttal-Heimerzheim. The idyllic location near the Swistbach broke down for the daycare center and was almost completely destroyed. So that 85 children can be lovingly cared for again as soon as possible after the daycare holiday, the “RTL Foundation – We Help Children eV” is working together with local partners on a quick reconstruction of the facility. The KITA “Zauberkiste” in Kupferstadt Stollberg met a similar fate. The nearby Vichtbach has completely flooded the furnishings and play equipment in the garden. A quick reopening is the goal here too.
