In summer, strollers along the quay will sit a little higher up in the sun. On the right side of the Salzach, the flood protection wall between the cycle path and footpath will be raised by 30 centimeters in places.
In three construction phases, 450 meters of wall will be newly concreted by June 9th. The first parts of the wall will be visible in mid-May. The construction work is purely a precautionary measure against a sudden rise in the river, assures Salzburg AG. It is paying a six-figure sum for the increase and hopes that this will mean peace for a few years. Construction is expected to be completed before the June rains.
