Florian David Fitz is the father of twins and loves his children unconditionally. But in certain moments he also thinks it’s okay to not like her at all – and chooses extremely honest words for it.

On Instagram, his work and especially his dog Elmo, who even advertises dog food, are the focus of attention. More private insights granted Florian David Fitz, 48, is not on social media. The actor also prefers to keep a low profile in interviews and rarely talks about his role as the father of twins. But if so, then the “Vincent wants Meer” star doesn’t mince his words – like now in a conversation with “Movie Pilot” about his new film “Wochenendrebellen”, which will be released in cinemas on September 28, 2023.

How far would Florian David Fitz go as a father?

Florian David Fitz likes extreme roles that demand a lot from him. And so his new film is based on true events Mirco, the father of autistic boy Jason (played by Cecilio Andresen), who wants to become a football fan so that he can have more of a say at his school and thereby be better integrated. In order to find the right club, Jason and his father want to meet each of the 56 Get to know Bundesliga clubs at a home game. An odyssey of several father-son weekend trips begins.

When asked whether Fitz would be able to make such a commitment to his child in real life, he replied Movie Pilot” quite openly: “If it weren’t for me” and humbly asks himself where one should get this strength from as a parent of an autistic child. Then he muses that you can’t change it and Florian David Fitz believes that as a parent you can give up because “it is your child” that you would love unconditionally.

“It’s okay if you think your child is shit”

But as in any good parent-child relationship, there is not only the feeling of love, but also negative emotions that your own offspring can trigger in you. And as blunt as the actor likes to be, he also makes it clear in this interview: “I think, despite all the love, it’s okay if you think your child sucks. We’re all just human.”
