Benedictions in German and Slovenian were also on the schedule alongside the legend of St. George. So the children are well prepared to keep alive a traditional tradition on April 22nd, on the eve of St. George’s Day: the Georgijagen, in the Slovenian dialect Šenturij jagata. “We want to save customs from extinction; everyone in Latschacher pulls together,” says Herbert Sternig from the village community, which is behind the Georgijagen together with the elementary school and fire brigade.
