Football legend Tom Brady is retiring

Nfter 22 years and seven Super Bowl victories it’s over: Football star Tom Brady ends his incomparable NFL career at the age of 44 and leaves the limelight. Recently there had already been media reports about the upcoming farewell, now the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made it official. The US professional league loses the GOAT, its all-time greatest.

“My career has been a nerve-racking journey, far beyond what I could have imagined and full of ups and downs,” Brady shared on his social media channels on Tuesday. “This is difficult to write, but: I will no longer make this commitment to the sport.”

Brady left the New England Patriots in 2020 after 19 years and a title dynasty. He continued his career in Florida, where he won another Super Bowl with the Buccaneers and old pal Rob Gronkowski. In this year’s playoffs, the Bucs lost 27:30 to the Los Angeles Rams after a thrilling comeback from 3:27 to 27:27 in the divisional round.

Brady is a sports icon in the USA, there are hardly any pass, win or touchdown records that he doesn’t hold. He was famous as a phenomenal game manager with nerves of steel and a perfect feeling for the moment.

The five-time Super Bowl and three-time NFL MVP (most valuable player) will probably retire to private life for the time being. He is married to the Brazilian top model Gisele Bundchen (41), the couple has two children aged eight and eleven.
