Since the first season, “For All Mankind” has told an alternative history of space travel in which Russia was the first to land on the moon. This small adjustment had major consequences and in the reality of the Apple TV+ series, an international Mars colony already exists.
The big time jumps between the seasons – “For All Mankind” now covers 34 years – mean that actors like Joel Kinnaman will have to wear a lot of make-up in the upcoming fourth season in order to pass as over 70-year-old astronauts. Ed Baldwin and Co. probably won’t be able to take part in another time jump, so will “For All Mankind” end after season 4?
New dispute in space
The ending of “For All Mankind” has not yet been confirmed, so it could be that season 4 introduces enough new characters to focus on a new generation in the future. But everything still revolves around Ed, Margo, Danielle and Co., as the new trailer shows.
Here we finally find out more about the plot of season 4. 8 years after the events of season 3, an international colony has emerged on Mars, but a new competition quickly begins. Asteroids containing an extremely valuable mineral are discovered and could change life on Earth and Mars forever.
The harmony is quickly over and the CIA, North Korea and the KGB do everything they can to reach the asteroids first. Starting November 10th, Apple TV+ will air a new episode from Season 4 of “For All Mankind” every Friday.
