UN Women still mobilized
Regarding what remains to be done in terms of women’s rights in the world, the director of UN Women France remains cautious. “There are quite powerful headwinds and a geopolitical context rather unfavorable to respect for human rights, of which the rights of women are the first to suffer”, she recalls. This wind of conservatism is blowing in particular in Europe, which “for 15 years can no longer boast of being the standard bearer of these causes”.
