The scheduled takeoff on the day of Valentine’s Day from Cape Canaveral marks the beginning of a new era oflunar exploration. The IM-1 mission, the result of the collaboration between SpaceX and the aerospace company Intuitive Machinesaims to deploy the robotic lander Nova-Cbaptized “Odysseus”, around the Moon. This mission aims to achieve the first soft landing of a private mission on the lunar surface, a feat that could redefine future explorations and uses of our natural satellite.

Intuitive Machines, pioneer in the field ofaerospace engineering, intends with this mission to demonstrate its advanced technological capabilities. The Odysseus lander will carry twelve payloadsincluding six scientific instruments of the NASAfalling within the framework of the CLPS program which aims to facilitate human return to the Moon.
