(CercleFinance.com) – Ford Motor Company is calling on owners of Bronco Sport and Escapes with 1.5L 3-cylinder engines dating from the 2020-2023 period to visit their dealership to inspect for potential cracks in the fuel injector .
When the engine is running, a cracked fuel injector can cause fuel and/or fuel vapor to build up near hot surfaces, which can cause a fire, the manufacturer said.
Ford is taking steps to minimize inconvenience to customers, including providing facilities to arrange pickup, repair and return of vehicles.
The recall affects 518,993 vehicles in the United States.
