Dn a European Parliament report on foreign interference in Europe, François Fillon and Jean-Pierre Raffarin, two former French Prime Ministers, are implicated, along with various other former senior European officials. The report was adopted on January 25 by the Inge commission specially created to deal with foreign interference in general, including the particular phenomenon of “elite capture” by hostile foreign powers. Are designated, first and foremost, Russia and China, but also Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries. The text was largely approved by 25 votes, 8 against and one abstention.
