A 47-year-old forest worker was killed in an accident in Niedernsill (Zell am See district) on Monday afternoon.
As the Salzburg police reported in a broadcast in the evening, the Romanian employee of a timber company tried to pull a spruce tree out of a jam at an altitude of 1,650 meters. The heavy metal trolley came loose and hit the worker. The emergency doctor, who was called immediately by helicopter, could only confirm the death of the worker.
