Ex-Bundesliga star Martin Fenin underwent withdrawal for three months and now wants to start a better life.
Ex-Bundesliga star Martin Fenin (36) celebrates the beginning of a new phase of his life at Easter. The former professional footballer revealed on his Instagram account that he was allowed to leave the rehab clinic after three months.
He wants to be a better role model for his daughter
For example, Fenin played for Juventus Turin, Eintracht Frankfurt and Energie Cottbus, but also repeatedly battled against alcohol. This should now be over once and for all. The Czech shared on Instagram: “March 28, 2024 is a completely normal date for many – for me personally it is the beginning of a new phase of my life. After three months I am leaving the rehab clinic in Červený Dvor, which has been for me since the beginning of the year was a temporary home.” There he was able to clear his head and clarify his priorities, he said in a photo from the clinic. He was helped to survive there.
He also realized there: “My daughter is the most important person in the world for me and I want to be a better role model for her than before.” He also knows that the hardest part is still ahead of him, “but I am determined to go in the right direction.” Thanks to two close friends, he finally understood that “there is no shame in seeking professional help.”
He was considered a “scandal professional”
After a successful start as a footballer, Martin Fenin caused a lot of excitement in his private life. In 2011, he fell out of a hotel window while under the influence of alcohol and medication, was involved in fights and ultimately lost his reputation as a “scandal professional”. His career ended in 2017 after he had last played for FK Varnsdorf for a few months.
