Former Philippine President Fidel Ramos dies at 94


MANILA (Reuters) – Former Philippine President Fidel Ramos, who ruled the Philippines from 1992 to 1998, died aged 94 on Sunday, his death was announced to the Rappler news site.

Fidel Ramos, who had held several positions at the head of the Philippine security apparatus before being elected head of state, had been one of the protagonists of the 1986 Revolution which put an end to the dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos, whose the son of the same name was elected to the presidency on May 9.
