After her sister’s death: the former ski racer became a mother again

Nadia Fanchinis, 37, tears have dried. At least for a while. In a new photo that she posted on Instagram, the former ski racer proudly shows her newborn baby. Little Giacomo was born on September 14, 2023, the Italian reveals in the comment to the picture. But the smile and the joy about her new baby are clouded because Nadia has had a difficult stroke of fate.

Only about half a year ago Nadia’s sister Elena Fanchini, who was also a ski racer, died. The winter sports association FISI confirmed at the beginning of February that Elena had died after a serious illness. Cancer cost her her life. She was only 37 years old. As old as her sister Nadia is now.

For Fanchini and husband Devid Salvadori, Giacomo is the third son after Alessandro, 3, and Davide, 2. The two older boys have already met the new family member, as can be seen in a short video that Nadia posted. They hold little Giacomo very carefully and snuggle up next to him in bed.

The pain of losing your sister may be a little less difficult to bear at the moment.
