Formula 1: the 2022 Red Bull single-seater unveiled

The Red Bull team unveiled its RB18 single-seater for the 2022 Formula 1 season on Wednesday.

The one now called Oracle Red Bull Racing, following the arrival of the American computer giant for a contract of around 500 million dollars (437 million euros), therefore presented the new car of the world champion Max Verstappen and his teammate Sergio Pérez.

The colors remain the same: blue, yellow and red. But according to the new technical regulations of Formula 1, the design is different.

Max Verstappen is ready to resume

“These new regulations will require us to be very adaptable, so we will need time to get used to the car, it’s not just an update from last year’s,” said Max Verstappen. I don’t feel any particular pressure at the idea of defending my title. I will do what I usually do because I don’t think there is any reason to act differently. I just want to get in the cockpit, grab the wheel and get out of the pit lane.”

Obviously, the other novelty concerns the Dutch driver’s car. The n°1 (which replaces for the moment his number 33) is present on the nose of his Dutchman’s single-seater.

“I feel recharged after this winter break and ready to get back behind the wheel, launched the world champion. I feel good and it is essential to be well prepared physically, especially with this profound change in the regulations. We don’t really know what we can expect from the car, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs on the track.”

This RB18 should make its first official laps on February 23, during the first winter tests in Barcelona, then in Bahrain, from March 10 to 12.

If Red Bull and Haas have therefore unveiled their single-seaters, the other teams will follow with in particular Ferrari on February 17, Mercedes on February 18 and Alpine on February 21.
