28 years after Forrest Gump discover his Indian remake, Laal Singh Chaddha. The trailer for the feature film worn by Aamir Khan has just been unveiled.
28 years ago, the public fell in love with Forrest Gump by Robert Zemeckis with Tom Hanks. Now cult, the feature film which traces the life of a simple and pure man who became a war hero, is entitled to its Bollywood remake.
Directed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha takes up the story of Zemeckis’ film by adapting it to India. The famous quote “Life is like a box of chocolates….” is also included, except that here the chocolates are replaced by golgappa, an Indian specialty made from puri bread, chickpeas, onions and potatoes.
The film is carried by Aamir Khan, one of Bollywood’s most famous actors. Aged 57, the latter has acted in around fifty films, including Ghajini, 3 idiots, Dhoom 3, Dangal and Thugs of Hindostan. He gives here the reply to Kareena Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt or Shovon Jaman.
Laal Singh Chaddha hits Indian theaters on August 11. No date has been announced in France.
