PILE SHOTGUN
There’s one thing everyone agrees on: Kado Thorne needs to be taken down. Use the Stake Shotgun, which you can find in floor loot, normal and rare chests, and holochests, to defeat Thorne at Eclipsed Estate.
THORNE’S VAMPIRIC BLADE
Once defeated, Thorne drops a mythical blade. Thorne’s Vampiric Blade heals you over time when you deal damage to enemies.
PUMPKIN LAUNCHER
And to complete the autumnal atmosphere, the pumpkin launcher has been reintroduced! Throw explosive pumpkins to startle your opponents. The Pumpkin Launcher can be found in ground loot, normal and rare chests, holochests, and flying drones.
WITCH BROOM
Is it a bird? A ram rocket? No, it’s a witch’s broom! Activate a witch’s broom to quickly rise into the air, then glide back to the ground. (This ability is especially useful during unexpected encounters.) Witch’s brooms are found in floor loot and chests.
BLOOD CANDY
Sweets for the fight. Candy Corn, Mint Candy, Spicy Candy, and Jelly Candy have been reintroduced for Fortnite: Nightmares 2023. Each of them has a distinct effect. (For example, the spicy candy temporarily reduces gravity.) These candies are found in candy buckets, or are obtained by ringing doorbells or defeating guards or bosses.
FORTNITE QUESTS AND REWARDS: NIGHTMARE
Candy isn’t the only source of rejoicing during Fortnite: Nightmares 2023. Complete quests in Fortnite: Nightmares to get in-game rewards! You earn EXP by completing individual Fortnite: Nightmares quests and items for your locker when you have completed a certain number of them:
- Complete 5 quests in Fortnite: Nightmares to obtain the Royal flying fox back accessory and the Black Cat banner icon.
- Complete 15 quests in Fortnite: Nightmares to obtain Candy Galore emote, Ghostly Fall trail, and Hypnoptera spray.
- Complete 25 quests in Fortnite: Nightmares to obtain the Revenant’s Wing glider, the loading screen In the Heart of the Sanctuary and the music from the Rise of the Revenant lounge.
Fortnite: Nightmares quests will gradually become available during the event and will remain available until the end of the event on November 3 at 7:00 a.m. (CET). Quests will challenge you to stage heists at Thorne’s estate, use new and re-introduced items from Fortnite: Nightmares, and more. Want to play something else? Some quests in Fortnite: Nightmares also allow you to earn EXP in Creator Experiences!
HORDE ASSAULT IS BACK !
The Horde Assault temporary experience is back! As a team, go to different locations and survive the hordes of cube monsters. Survive until defeating the final boss! Accumulate score by defeating monsters, performing combos and collecting score multipliers. Horde Assault will be available until the end of Fortnite: Nightmares on November 3, 2023 at 7:00 a.m. (CET) and can be accessed from the Discover menu.
HORDE ASSAULT QUESTS AND REWARDS
Horde Assault has its own set of quests available until the end of Fortnite: Nightmares! Complete individual quests to earn EXP and get items for your locker after completing a certain number of them:
- Complete 1 Horde Assault quest to obtain the Bourbier coating.
- Complete 4 Horde Assault quests to obtain Pumpkin Heart emoticon.
- Complete 7 Horde Assault quests to obtain the pickaxe Membranous tip.
Square the monsters in the cube. Horde Assault quests will challenge you to land headshots against cube monsters, attack cube monster spawners, collect score multipliers, and more.

Outfits come or return to haunt the Item Shop during Fortnite: Nightmares 2023. New outfits include Seth the embalmed troublemaker, Poiscrade the fish of the quagmire, Meowspectral key miaonstrosity and Festival Phaedra the aquatic witch:

Disney’s Jack Skellington
The Pumpkin King set items are on the way. Prepare for the arrival of the Jack Skellington outfit in the Item Shop later during Fortnite: Nightmares 2023! This outfit features the Jack the Earwig alternate style.

QUICK WEAPON ACTION (BETA)
The new Quick Weapon action (beta) has been added to Controller Options!
When activated, the Quick Weapon action replaces the Next Weapon command. Press the Quick Weapon command to equip your primary item. Press one of the commands assigned to other items while holding Quick Weapon to equip one of them. You can press Quick Weapon and any of these commands at the same time to instantly change items. You can also hold down the Quick Weapon command to check which item in your inventory each command is assigned to.
When the Quick Weapon action is activated, Previous Weapon becomes the Place Marker command, to allow you to better communicate with your teammates. You can also replace Previous Weapon with the action of your choice by going to the controller customization options.
END OF COMPATIBILITY WITH OS9 ON ANDROID DEVICES
Starting with update 28.00, players will need to use OS10 or higher to play the official version of Fortnite on Android. Android OS9 will officially no longer be managed by Fortnite, meaning it will no longer be taken into account for compatibility with future Fortnite updates. The quality of the game could therefore deteriorate little by little until it becomes unplayable.
Gamers unable to use OS10 have Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, or Amazon Luna as possible alternatives. These services are compatible with Android OS9, so you can continue playing Fortnite (streaming).
NOTES ON COMPETITIVE MODES
- The Stake Shotgun, Thorne’s Vampiric Blade, Pumpkin Launcher, Witch’s Broom, and Candies are not available in tournaments.
- The Reality Buffs Pizza Fun, Frozen Slide, and Cooldown Run are not available in tournaments.
BUGS FIXES
- Fixed tree rendering issue.
- Exclamation points disappear from the Quests tab as expected.
