Epic Games had assured the Fortnite community that this season would not be stamped Star Wars, but the more the patches advance, the more questions arise. While the latest weekly update permanently implements the character of Darth Vader as a hostile NPC, and carrying a lightsaber capable of being thrown like a boomerang, dataminers have put their finger on some very interesting data, relating to a named NPC luke skywalker.
“I am your father”
He’s the French leaker Zatheo which is the origin of the discovery. Epic Games added in the files a green lightsaber model, which is related to “Luke”. Apparently, the publisher is preparing both a skin and an in-game NPC (exactly like Darth Vader this season).
If Epic Games decides to intertwine the lore of Fortnite and Star Wars, the end of the season could be epic, including a duel between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, like the one found in the original saga.
A collaboration that is gaining momentum
With the imminent arrival of Luke Skywalker, shortly after the advent of Vader, Epic Games is putting the package on the Star Wars franchise. And that’s a good thing for the fans, since the very first collaboration with the intergalactic license was almost half-hearted, revolving around more recent characters from the franchise, such as Kylo Ren, Rey or even Finn .
