A German in Rosental? A patrol from the Villach motorway police noticed a vehicle with German license plates in St. Jakob, which they immediately checked.
“During the check it turned out that the license plates had been reported as lost or stolen,” reports the police. “But there was an inspection sticker with a Klagenfurt license plate attached to the vehicle.” This enabled the officers to quickly track down a 34-year-old from Klagenfurt. “The driver stated that he had found the license plates near garbage cans at his home address in Klagenfurt,” the police continued. Because his car’s Austrian registration was revoked in December of the previous year, he simply installed the German license plates. “He was traveling on public transport with it,” explains the police. “The panels were seized and the Klagenfurt resident will be reported to the public prosecutor.”
