Foundation: Apple TV+ unveils a teaser and the return date of its epic series

Good news if you liked the adaptation of Asimov’s novels: season 2 of Foundation coming to Apple TV+ in a few months!

And there is talk of a serious time leap.

Apple TV+ still believes in its project

Recently integrated into Canal+ packages at no additional cost, the Apple TV+ streaming service has so far offered original series that have been rather appreciated by critics. The latter, on the other hand, was doubtful at the end of 2021 (we were the first) concerning the first season of the ambitious adaptation of Foundation. Considered impossible to stage, this transposition from paper to screen is indeed not without flaws. Anyway, season 2 is almost here, and is announced with a teaser.

This one, which visually recalls that of Dunes and its sequel to come at the end of the year at the cinema, informs us first of all that the first episode will be broadcast on July 14th. Then, an episode will arrive every Friday, for a season 2 counting ten episodes in total.

A time leap for Foundation

As in the novels of Isaac Asimov, the plot of the series unfolds over a very large period of time. No surprise therefore to learn that this season 2 will take place a little more than a century after the last episode of the first. Following in particular the revelations of Seldon (now revered in the Foundation via the Church of Seldon), the Empire and the galaxy are in crisis. The Cleons are losing power, and a vengeful queen is leading a
conspiracy to bring down the Empire from within.

In the casting of the David S. Goyer series, we will always find Laura
Birn, Cassian Bilton and Terrence Mann. This trio will be joined by Isabella Laughland, Kulvinder Ghir, Ella-Rae Smith, Holt McCallany, Rachel House, Nimrat Kaur, Ben Daniels and Dimitri Leonidas. In any case, this is what the press release from Apple announces, while we can clearly see in the teaser the faces of Lee Pace and Jared Harris as well.
