  • Strengthened partnership with Alternatives Energies, for carbon-free yachting

  • Aura 51, the first electric catamaran

  • 2021/22 half-year results: activity up 7%

  • Confidence reaffirmed in growth above 10% over the 2021/22 financial year

The Fountaine Pajot Group, one of the world leaders in the manufacture of pleasure boats, provides an update on the developments of its Odysséa2024 plan and announces its first-half results for the current financial year (closing on 31/08/22).

Strengthened partnership with Alternatives Energies

As part of its development for low-carbon yachting, the Fountaine Pajot Group seals a strengthened partnership by taking a majority stake in Alternatives Energies alongside Julian Hélène, Managing Director and EVE System, historical partner.

Alternatives Energies benefits from long experience in the development and integration of zero-emission or hybrid propulsion-energy systems for navigation: electro-solar-powered tourist ferryboats and shuttles, multi-mission barges with hybrid technology, hydrogen autonomy… For more than 20 years, Alternatives Energies has been innovating to design clean and tailor-made solutions for passenger boats and work ships.

Through this participation, Fountaine Pajot wishes to give Alternatives Énergies access to the yachting market and to rely on the incomparable expertise of Julian Hélène, Managing Director and his teams, to accelerate its Odyssea business project, which aims to carbon neutrality by 2030.

In parallel with this acquisition, Fountaine Pajot began testing its first electric catamaran designed in collaboration with Alternatives Energies: the Aura 51, equipped with an electric motor incorporating the combined expertise of Alternatives Energies and Fountaine Pajot. Thanks to this strategic partnership, Fountaine Pajot is able to offer a complete and fully integrated electrical solution to its customers: engine block, battery bank, power block, integrated and combined management of on-board and power equipment. This boat will be presented in world premiere at the Cannes boat show. The Group’s ambition is to gradually complete its offer to meet strong customer expectations.

Philippe Pallu de La Barrière, founder of Alternatives Energies and Julian Hélène, Managing Director declared: ”

Fountaine Pajot’s acquisition of a stake represents a tremendous opportunity to extend and accelerate, thanks to an industrial vision and complementary projects, the pioneering developments that we have been carrying out for more than 20 years for cleaner and less emissive navigation.

»

Mathieu Fountaine, Deputy CEO of Fountaine Pajot added: “

We are very proud to be able to partner with Alternatives Energies and very enthusiastic about this technical partnership. This collaboration perfectly reflects our ambition to become a pioneer of the environmental transition in the nautical industry.

Fountaine Pajot presents on February 28, 2022 a positive cash flow of €9.7 million and a favorable change in working capital requirement of €28.9 million given the good level of down payments received on orders, generating positive operating cash flow of €38.4 million. The increase in inventories anticipates orders to be delivered in the second half of the year.
