France: Annual inflation confirmed at +6.2% in November


(CercleFinance.com) – Over one year, consumer prices in France increased by 6.2% in November 2022, as in October, according to INSEE, which therefore confirms its provisional estimate. On the other hand, the monthly change in the CPI is revised downwards by 0.1 point, to +0.3%.

In annual variation, the rise in the prices of manufactured goods (+4.4%) and food (+12.1%) increased slightly, while energy prices slowed (+18.4%) ) with the less buoyant prices of petroleum products (+17.9%).

Core inflation rose year on year, reaching +5.3% in November, after +5% in October. The harmonized consumer price index (HICP) rose by 0.4% over one month, after +1.2% the previous month; over one year, it increased by 7.1%, as in October.
