France: Household confidence fell more than expected in June

PARIS, June 28 (Reuters) – The consumer confidence index in France fell more than expected in June, reaching its lowest level in nearly nine years, according to the monthly business survey published on Tuesday by INSEE.

The synthetic indicator stands at 82? ???????after 85 points (revised down) in May, its lowest level since July 2013.

Fourteen economists polled by Reuters expected household confidence to average 84 points in June.

Even if household concerns about the outlook for price trends remain well above the long-term average, they have diminished for the third month in a row.

On the other hand, household sentiment towards the outlook for the general economic situation continued to deteriorate, falling to its lowest level since May 2020, during the first lockdown introduced to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
