PARIS (Reuters) – Yannick Jadot, environmental candidate for the 2022 presidential election, pleads for an autonomous list of Europe Ecologie-Les Verts (EELV) in the European elections of 2024, while La France insoumise is already campaigning for an alliance on the left on the model of the New People’s Ecological and Social Union (Nupes).

“I am a fervent supporter of proportional voting because it allows you to mobilize your electorate and to value the specificities of each”, declared the MEP in Le Journal du Dimanche.

“I would therefore like there to be an environmentalist list for the Europeans. Our differences with La France insoumise justify this autonomy. And we will collectively have more MEPs by bringing the proportional system to life than with a common list”, he explains. he.

Yannick Jadot, sixth in the 2022 presidential election with 4.63% of the vote, notably led the EELV list for the 2019 Europeans, which had achieved the surprise score of 13.47%.
