France supports Moldova in the face of “the risks of destabilization”, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Tuesday, after a series of explosions in the pro-Russian separatist region of Transdniestria, neighboring war-torn Ukraine.

“The Minister expressed to his Moldovan counterpart his concern and his vigilance with regard to the incidents that have occurred over the past two days in Transnistria. In this context, he reiterated France’s full support for stability, sovereignty and the territorial integrity of Moldova in the face of the risks of destabilization to which it may be subject”, according to a press release.

“Our support to Moldova, which is particularly exposed to the consequences of the war in Ukraine, will continue in a determined manner,” the statement said.
