France team: Lucas Hernandez back with the Blues, nine months after his injury

Nine months after a cruciate ligament rupture during the 2022 World Cup, defender Lucas Hernandez was recalled to the France team on Thursday by Didier Deschamps. Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kanté, on the other hand, were not retained in midfield for the next two qualifying matches for Euro 2024.

PSG defender Lucas Hernandez returns to the France team, nine months after a cruciate ligament rupture during the 2022 World Cup, according to the list unveiled Thursday by coach Didier Deschamps for the Euro-2024 qualifying matches against Ireland and Germany, September 7 and 12. Mentioned, Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kanté, also 2018 world champions and given long periods of unavailability, were however not retained in midfield.
