France: The increase in bank charges capped at 2% in 2023 (Le Maire)


PARIS, Sept 13 (Reuters) – French banks have pledged to limit the rise in bank charges to 2% in 2023, Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire announced on Tuesday after a meeting with industry representatives.

“We are putting in place a shield on bank rates,” said Bruno Le Maire during a press briefing, alongside the president of the French Banking Federation (FBF), Laurent Mignon.
